Check your syllabus before you start

A short source check can prevent weeks spent using the wrong material.

Match the paper and sitting

Write down the exam, subject, variant and intended sitting. Compare those details with the document you are about to use. A familiar paper code is not enough when a syllabus or variant has changed.

Separate current from historical

An examiner report can show how students approached a past question. A current syllabus defines the scope for a specified period. Use each document for its purpose, and avoid assuming that a historical question covers current requirements unchanged.

Create a small source list

Keep the current syllabus, examinable documents where applicable and the official subject resource hub together. Add the publication period to your notes so you can tell at a glance what you are using.

Resolve uncertainty at the source

If a resource conflicts with your course material, return to the official document or ask your tutor a precise question. Commerce Companion labels source periods and preserves direct publisher links so you can make that check.
