Translate study into evidence

Instead of listing “good analytical skills”, describe a task you completed: comparing results, explaining a variance or reconciling a balance. Explain your method and the outcome without inflating your level of responsibility.

Choose relevant examples

Read the role description and select examples that match its work. A class project, volunteering or part-time role can demonstrate care with data, communication and meeting deadlines when the connection is clear.

Be precise about qualifications

State your current qualification status accurately. Distinguish studying, passed papers, affiliate status and membership where relevant. Do not present an unfinished qualification as completed.

Prepare to explain every line

Use the CV as an interview checklist. Be ready to explain the problem, what you did, the tools you used and what you learned. Remove claims you cannot support with a clear example. For actual vacancies, follow the employer’s current requirements and application process.
